1. अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति रोनाल्ड रेगन ने 1984 में 17 जुलाई को नेशनल आइसक्रीम मंथ घोषित किया था! उनका मानना था कि आइसक्रीम पोषण देता है और अमरीका के 90% लोग इसे खाना पसंद करते हैं!
2. ऐसा माना जाता है कि रोमन सम्राट नीरो ने पहला आइसक्रीम डेजर्ट का आविष्कार किया था जब उन्होंने अपने सेवको को बर्फ की पहाड़ियों से बर्फ लाने का आदेश दिया था ताकि वह शहद और फलों के साथ उसका आनंद ले सके!
3. खोजी मार्को पोलो ने चीन की यात्रा के दौरान आइसक्रीम बनती देखी और इटली के लोगो को उसका परिचय करवाया! 1533 में इटली की राजकुमारी का विवाह फ्रांस के राजा हेनरी द्रितीय के साथ था! वह अपने साथ कुछ इटालियन कुक को साथ ले गए थे जो आइसक्रीम जैसी जायकेदार बर्फ की रेसिपी बनाना जानते थे!
4. अमेरिका में सबसे लोकप्रिय आइसक्रीम फ्लेवर वेनिला है जिसकी सेल 29% है! दूसरे नंबर पर है चॉकलेट आइसक्रीम!
5. आपको जानकार हैरानी होगी की अमेरिका में इंटरनेशनल आईस्क्रीम एसोसिएशन भी बना है!
6. अमेरिका में जितना भी दूध का उत्पादन होता है उसमे से 10.3% हिस्सा केवल आइसक्रीम को बनाने के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है!
7. आइसक्रीम का पहला लिखित रिकॉर्ड सीरिया का है! पत्थर पर अंकित प्राचीन लिपि के अनुसार मारी के राजा ने 1780 ईसापूर्व में एक आइस हाउस बनवाया था, जिसमें पहाड़ों से बर्फ लाकर जमा की जाती थी!

9. चीन के युवराज झांगहुई (सन 618 से 697) के मकबरे पर बनी एक पेंटिंग में कुछ महिलाएं को आइसक्रीम खाती हुई दिखाया गया हैं!
10. ब्रिटेन के शासक चार्ल्स-२ के पास सन 1671 में पहली बार आइसक्रीम पहुंची! वह उससे इतना प्रभावित हुआ कि उसने अपने आइसक्रीम बनाने वाले कुक को इसकी रेसिपी गुप्त रखने के लिए आजीवन पेंशन दी! 1744 में पहली बार ऑक्सफोर्ड इंग्लिश डिक्शनरी में आइसक्रीम शब्द प्रकाशित हुआ था!
11. रॉबर्ट ग्रीन ने सन 1874 में आइसक्रीम सोडा का आविष्कार किया! 20वीं सदी के अंत तक अब आइसक्रीम में फल और मेवा आदि को मिलाया जाने लगा!
12. आइसक्रीम कोन के आविष्कार के लिए संत लुइस मिस्सौरी के चार्ल्स इ मिन्चेस को माना जाता है!
13. अमेरिका में प्रत्येक व्यक्ति सालाना औसतन 10 Kg आइसक्रीम खा जाता है!
14. 20वीं सदी के मध्य में रेफ्रीजरेशन के आने से आइसक्रीम की लोकप्रियता और बढ़ गई!
